2025 MLK DAYS OF SERVICE VOLUNTEER ACTIVATIONS

DISCOVERY AT PARKLANE

9:45am - 12:15pm, East Point, GA

Hands On Atlanta volunteers will interact with students from Title 1 schools in the Metro Atlanta community. In a structured environment, volunteers will help students have new experiences and visualize brighter through enriching activities.

Habitat Restoration at Herbert Taylor Park

9:00am - 12:00pm, Atlanta, GA

Spend time outdoors and see immediate results. You will improve habitat for native and visiting wildlife! Work along the shores of Rock Creek and So. Fork Peachtree Creek among the champion trees--where indigenous people lived.

MAX: 15 VOLUNTEERS

GRADY FRESH FOOD PANTRY

8:30am - 1:30pm, Atlanta, GA

Volunteer at our monthly Fresh Food Cart at the Grady Ponce De Leon Center. Volunteers will sort, pack and distribute food directly to patients.

MAX: 25 VOLUNTEERS

FOOD WORKS AT 970

9:00am - 11:00am, Atlanta, GA

Volunteers will support several nonprofits co-located at the Hands On Atlanta warehouse (970 Jefferson St.) to help fight food insecurity. Tasks include packing meals, sorting food, and more.

MAX: 30 VOLUNTEERS

HYGIENE HELPERS AT 970

9:00am - 11:00am, Atlanta, GA

Volunteers will pack hygiene and meal kits at the Hands On Atlanta warehouse (970 Jefferson St.). The hygiene kits will be distributed to neighbors in the Old Fourth Ward through Ebenezer Baptist Church.

MAX: 30 VOLUNTEERS

HYGIENE KIT DISTRO WITH EBENEZER BAPTIST

9:00am - 12:00pm, Atlanta, GA

Volunteers will start the morning by making sandwiches and then canvassing the Old Fourth Ward neighborhood passing out the sandwiches and hygiene kits.

MEAL PACK + DISTRO

8:00am - 1:00pm, Atlanta, GA

Join the Latin American Association for a meal distribution to feed 100 families! Volunteers will sort, pack and deliver meals through their drive through/up distribution.

6:30am - 12:00pm, Atlanta, GA

Volunteers will join the Atlanta Track Club to welcome the College Football National Championship by supporting race prep, expo, start, finish, and breakdown!

Protect an endangered habitat that lessens the impact of climate change in our city. Clear ivy from ancient trees, see wildlife and a relatively undisturbed forest right in the midst of Midtown.

MLK DAY AT ORME PARK

10:00am - 12:00pm, Atlanta, GA

Join Friends of Orme Park to help restore the forest at the park to a healthy, native woodland. Volunteers will remove invasive plants shrubs and English Ivy at Orme Park

Volunteers are welcome to honor Dr. King's legacy with Helping Mamas as they help us with sorting & inventorying donations or working in the warehouse!
