WAWA's provides meaningful activities encouraging conservation, stewardship and experiential learning on the second Saturday of every month

Purpose

To serve the grounds in meaningful ways encouraging conservation, stewardship and experiential learning on the second Saturday of every month.

Role

Tasks: Trail building and maintenance, Invasive Plant Eradication, Habitat Restoration and other activities needed to manage the facility and grounds of this unique urban resource!

Volunteer Day at The Pantry

Description

Food distribution is on the 2nd & 4th Saturdays during Jan. - Oct. 1st & 3rd. Saturdays Nov. - Dec. You will be sorting and placing food in vehicles.

Purpose

We have an amazing opportunity to help those during difficult times. Focusing on our children and the elderly! Your time will help entire families in the local and surrounding community that do not have access to quality resources for food.

Role

Volunteers must be willing to assist where needed. You will break down bulk quantities of food, and set up our mobile pantry distribution. Volunteers will consistently, remove any food package debris and break down any boxes for recycling.

Vibe

We have a PASSION for PEOPLE and we LOVE to SERVE!

Community Marketplace Food Pantry - FULL

Description

The Community Marketplace gives free food to families to combat hunger. Volunteers help us prepare and distribute free groceries.

Purpose

The participants have the opportunity to make an impact on people in the community who may not have the food they need to survive.

Role

On Wednesdays, the day we give away food, volunteers stock shelves, sort food, pack bags, and greet clients. On Mondays, volunteers help unload the delivery truck, stock shelves, and need to be able to lift at least 50 lbs.

Vibe

We are kind, loving, patient, and down to earth.

Discovery at Parkland Elementary

Description

This program provides enrichment activities and tutoring to students K - 8th Grade.

Purpose

Hands On Atlanta volunteers will interact with students from Title 1 schools in the Metro Atlanta community. In a structured environment, volunteers will help students have new experiences and visualize brighter through enriching activities.

Role

School captain - Oversee Check-In/dismissal, brief/debrief volunteers, resolve conflicts. Session lead - Oversee classroom activity, Implement curriculum, and set up/clean up the classroom. General volunteer - Assist lead in all efforts
