Today, more than ever, there is a need for humanity to work towards creating a more just, humane, equitable, and peaceful world, where the Triple Evils of racism, poverty and militarism cease to exist and love prevails. To create that world, we must first change our minds and ensure that our means align with our ends. Therefore, the charge is to start with ourselves, then connect with others, in “Cultivating a Beloved Community Mindset to Transform Unjust Systems.”
Each interactive session will encompass a relevant conversation, with audience participation, on how we can collaborate (globally, strategically, and compassionately) to facilitate this transformative work. Powerful summit sessions will address:
1) Why a ‘Thought Shift’ is necessary
2) The historical biases behind the mindset that acquiesces to and perpetuates injustice;
3) What we must unlearn and relearn on the path to Beloved Community thinking;
4) The facets of a Beloved Community Mindset and why the facets are critical for us to, as Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. said, “make of this old world a new world.”
5) How a transformed way of thinking leads to transformed systems, with attention to specific systems
Together, we can harness the power of this strategic convening and collaborative work to bring us closer to creating the Beloved Community – a society where injustice ceases and love prevails.
