There are 300,000 children living in poverty in the metro Atlanta area. Government assistant programs like WIC SNAP don't allow for diaper or other healthcare purchases.

Hands On Atlanta's partner agencies include non-profits benefiting single parents, families in housing transitions, and homeless individuals, all in need of essential healthcare items. Volunteers will pack care kits for families, adults and children of all ages. Items to be packed will include items such as bath soap, lotion, toothbrush, wash cloth, feminine items, hand sanitizer, tooth paste and/or training pants.

Listen & Learn

You’ll hear from our Community + Civic Engagement team why this activity is essential for improving lives for metro Atlanta families.

Pack Kit

Volunteers will work together in small groups and in an assembly line style to pack various hygiene and essential items in the kits.

Wrap Up

We’ll share kit pack totals, snap a group photo and then our team will take care of the rest - including delivering the kits to our partners.

This project qualifies for our “Project in a Box” option. It is exactly what it sounds like.

We’ll package and deliver this volunteer activation in a large bin and pick up the bin with completed kits, and distribute them to our nonprofit/school partners.

• Assign a dedicated project manager

• Scope the project

• Order all materials and supplies

• Work with the venue of your choice

• Recruit and manage event staffing

• Provide volunteer training

• Set up/break down the project

• Deliver kits to nonprofit/school
